SAMPLE 8 Day Expedition

Day One: Arrive in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, where you will be picked up by your safari guide, and transferred to your evening accommodations.

Day Two: After a night of rest and a full breakfast, you will head to the Giraffe Centre, where you will have the opportunity to feed a giraffe, and learn about the rescue efforts. You will then get in the jeep and experience a drive to the Escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley. With incredible scenic views, you will want to have your camera ready! Soon you will be in Narok, where you will have a light lunch at our favorite, the Narok Coffee House. You will then drive to the Maasai Mara, the home of Kokoo’s Guest House at the Emparnat Cultural Centre. After checking in, you will have the opportunity to rest and get settled in for the week. Enjoy your dinner on our patio, with a beautiful African sunset welcoming you home.

Day Three: You will start your day early, with a full day game drive in the #1 Safari Destination in the World! Our experienced Maasai guides are skilled at finding the best animals, and if you are lucky, you will have the opportunity to see The Big Five during your stay with us. Your full day game drive will include a picnic breakfast. Be sure to bring your camera, and dress in layers. It’s chilly in the morning, but when the sun comes out it can get pretty toasty! Safari can be tiring, so after you play with the lions, you’ll return to the guest house for rest and relaxation.

Day Four: Begin your morning with a leisurely breakfast, before heading out to visit Ewangan Village, a traditional Maasai village where our friends live. They will welcome you with singing and dancing, and possibly include you in a Maasai jumping contest with the warriors. You will have the opportunity to learn about the Maasai way of life, visit their manyattas, and learn how they make fire. After your tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Maasai market. Bring your haggling skills, because you will need them! Everything is negotiable. After returning to the guest house for lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit the botanical gardens, and see the variety of plants and trees that grow on the Maasai Mara. You will return for an outdoor dinner, and you’ll want to get some rest for your day of service.

Day Five: One of our objectives at the Emparnat Cultural Centre is to plant hundreds of thousands of trees to transform the ecosystem of the Maasai Mara. During your day of service, you will have the opportunity to help plant 1000 trees as you work with local families in the community. While there may be a language barrier, service is always an incredible way to join hearts. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now. After lunch and relaxation, you will head out on an afternoon game drive with our safari guide, for more animals!

Day Six: Today is a free day! When you book your expedition with us, we can give you suggestions and ideas that will allow you to experience the local culture. You can also take a drive to Nkareta, another community where we have developed a farm and training center to help the local families.

Day Seven: You are back out on the Maasai Mara early for your final game drive. Each time you go, you will have a completely different experience, guaranteed!

Day Eight: After breakfast, you will say farewell to the Maasai Mara, and begin the drive back to Nairobi, so that you can fly out late in the evening. You will plan for dinner at a restaurant at The Galleria, and have the opportunity to do last minute shopping for souvenirs at the many shops there. You will then be taken to the airport, where you will say goodbye to your new friends, and know that you are leaving your new home!

We can customize any safari with experiences such as hot air balloon rides and spa or massage sessions.

If you are a retreat coordinator, please talk to us about a custom itinerary to incorporate your training sessions.
